Why Afro Descendants Must Unite

I think we as Afro descendants know that we must unite in order to be a power to be reckoned with in this hemisphere. We need to be aware of the existence of each other across the whole hemisphere.

The urgency then is one of action. What can be done to achieve the aim of unity? We need to think about it. I welcome ideas on this important topic. What can we DO to help ourselves?

Caribbean people, particularly those in Trinidad and Tobago, are multi-racial. How do Afro-Asians fit in to your agenda.? My family has African, Chinese, Indian and European roots. Doesn't limiting the scope of liberation to an identifiable ethnic group leaving multiracial people to re-define themselves, chose sides or be left marginalized? Living in America I am tired of having to define myself beyond just being of the human race. If one is marginalized due to poverty or handicap and they are only 1/15th African descent why do the self proclaimed judgers determine them to be? Women are the marginalized in EVRY culture. We are dehumanized in every fashion throughout the Developed, developing and undeveloped worlds. Many of my sisters have to wear diapers in their 20ies because they have been raped so many times their bladders, reproductive organs and anal tracts have been burst into one another. Women of all origins and mixed origin all suffer, but particularly women in Chad, Somalia, Kenya and Nigeria. If People of African descent is to Unite I agree only if African men are taught to respect their women. Caribbean men are not known for treating their women too well either. As Sparrow sang " Black up she eye, buss up she knee and she will love you eternally" Let African origin men take the lead in this area and show how to respect and care for the opposite sex. Let’s start there.
